“I know that many people have no problem with abortion, and although in the past I have supported him, my son’s abortion carkens my soul,” Grammer wrote.
In 1974, Grammer’s girlfriend became pregnant and wanted to abort. Grammer shared that, although he was “willing to have the son,” he did not beg him to save his life. “
Grammer said he still supports “the idea that a woman has the right to do what she wants with her own body.”
“But it’s difficult for me,” he added.
Grammer also shared that, when he and his fourth wife, Kayte, waited twins, one of the amniotic bags broke. The doctors recommended abortion, saying that otherwise the other twins would be in danger.
Grammer and his then wife decided to abort to the Male Men’s to save the twin woman, a decision that he described as “the greatest pain I have met.”
The Men’s twin died, but the daughter, Faith, is now 12 years old.
“We kill our son so that Faith could live,” Grammer wrote. “We cried while we saw how his heart stopped.”
“Kayte’s cry was enough to make a man mourning all his life,” he continued.
Grammer said he did not want to generate “controversy,” but criticized the “assumptions that have executed generations of children in this way.”
“I have no idea what doctors call themselves,” he added. “Something about ‘first, not hurting’. But I don’t look for controversy.”
