In order to support the pastoral work of vulnerable Catholic communities, the Colombia office of Aid to the Church in Need (ACN Colombia) will hold an auction of works by recognized artists on October 16.
This is a charity auction dinner that will take place at the Club Metropolitan in Bogotá, where “art, faith and solidarity will be the protagonists, supporting the mission of the Foundation in Colombia and the world,” highlights ACN Colombia in a note shared with ACI Prensa.

To this end, there will also be the presence of “benefactors, ambassadors and Catholic leaders such as Sister Gloria Cecilia Narváez, Father Lawrence Ssimbwa, a Ugandan parish priest who came to the Colombian Pacific to reconcile an entire community, and Mons. Carlos Alberto Correa, Bishop of Apartadó, close to the reality of the Church in mission areas.”
“As part of the event, works by more than 45 Colombian artists will be auctioned, including Fernando Botero, Alejandro Obregón, Ana Mercedes Hoyos, Mari Paz Jaramillo, among others.
ACN Colombia indicated that the funds raised will be used for “construction, training, support and humanitarian assistance initiatives, in contexts where the faith faces great challenges that directly impact vulnerable Catholic communities inside and outside the country.”
For example, within Colombia the construction of the San Martín de Porres parish, in Buenaventura, will be helped; the training of 73 seminarians from the Cristo Sacerdote National Seminary, in La Ceja; the support of four Missionaries of Mother Laura, in San José del Guaviare; among other works.
At the international level, five pastoral summer camps will be contributed, organized by the Christian Youth of Jordan; the installation of solar panels at the Catholic Catechetical Society Center in Syria; psychological training for children affected by war in Ukraine; assistance to 1,000 families displaced by war in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, among other initiatives.
