The Archdiocese of Mexico stressed that the jubilee was “a meeting full of hope”, in which the Holy Father “spoke to young people about the importance of maintaining firm, loyal and sincere relationships; of the courage born from the love received and that is necessary to take life choices; and to study, love and work, following the example of Jesus.”

“This work is not only a task for young people, it is also a social call to accompany the concerns, the fears and desires of the new generations,” said the Archdiocese in its editorial, encouraging “cultivating environments where it is taught to value the authentic friendship, without filters or digital masks.”

He also made “a call to families to teach children to build sustainable, conscious, not ephemeral relationships, reinforcing learning as the fact that authentic friendship is born from sharing life, not just likes.”

He also shared the concern of the Church for “the proliferation of digital content, events and festivals that for some can be a simple video in social networks, or only a musical show, but for others, the echo of a broken emotional world, which finds in the exaltation of evil and death a strange form of comfort, and with which some young people develop empathy”.

“The digital and entertainment world in which our young people grow cannot be invaded only by messages without soul, empty or calls that exalt death,” said the archdiocese, encouraging society “to generate spaces for our young people to recover human affection, close listening and recognize themselves worthy of living.”
