A footballer traveled to look for his family and ended up in the hospital with an injury

The region of Valparaiso, in Chile, is currently experiencing a tragedy after the forest fires that are breaking out in the region and that, for the moment, left 122 fatalities. Football player Pedro SanchezÑublense forward, decided to travel to Viña del Mar to be close to his family, more precisely to the area of Mirafloresand ended up in the hospital.

“The truth is that I was in Santiago for preseason with Ñublense and when everything started I only saw on television that Miraflores was burning. Nobody in my family answered my messages, they had no signal. “I was very distressed at not being able to communicate with my people.” declared Sánchez, who did not hesitate to go to the region to ensure that his people escaped the fire.

Once there, Sánchez gave himself to community help by rescuing abandoned animals and ended up suffering a wound to one of his cheekbones, for which he had to be transferred to a medical center.

The 25-year-old forward had to undergo surgery and is now recovering from the injuries suffered.

The Chilean Legal Medical Service announces that there are at least 99 dead after the devastating fires.

Sánchez, who arrived in Ñublense a month ago from Unión La Calera, will have to rejoin the training of the team technically directed by Mario José Salas once his recovery is complete.

Ñublense will debut in the Chilean First Division League on Friday, February 16, against Coquimbo Unidos and it is expected that the forward may already be available to play.
