According to local mediaCarmen Muñoz and the actor Juan Ángel Esparza were married on Wednesday, June 19 in a private ceremony in the cathedral of the country’s capital, information that has been refuted by the headquarters of the Primate Archbishop of Mexico.

Carmen Muñoz shared details of her wedding through her social networks, including photos in which she wore a short, white dress with a sweetheart neckline, accompanied by gloves, a veil and a train.

Criticism on social networks was immediate, with several Internet users considering Muñoz’s dress to be inappropriate for receiving a sacrament.

The Metropolitan Cathedral clarified that the temple “does not offer ‘private ceremonies’, much less during the times in which daily celebrations take place, such as the Lauds Prayer at 9 am and the Chapter Mass at 9:30 am.”

Furthermore, the document points out that “the photographs published in various media and especially in an entertainment magazine, do not correspond to the architecture or layout of any of the altars that the Metropolitan Cathedral has.”

The Cathedral of Mexico specified that it reserves the right to act in accordance with the law “for the moral damage by using the name of the Metropolitan Cathedral to generate scandals such as those generated by this host and the entertainment magazine.”
