Buenos Aires became the epicenter of designer design, thanks to Designers Buenos Aires. From May 16 to 23, the parades brought to the fore textile innovation, sustainability and artisanal work.
Romina Cardillo, from Nous Étudions, led the creative direction, Natura was in charge of the makeup and the hairstyles were by Niche Studio. Behind all the details, Guillermo Azar, general producer of the week.
“For this season, we have carefully selected five emblematic designers from Argentinaeach with unique and distinctive styles, with the aim of offering an experience that challenges conventions and captivates the public with its diversity and creativity,” commented Azar.
Tramando presented its collection “I Declare Inaugurated” inspired by sports disciplines and the Olympic gameswhere the predominant colors were gray, cobalt blue, brown, beige and white, with prints that evoked a media sports practice.
Esquina showed its winter in an original parade at the Argentine Equestrian Club. The collection, designed by Josefina Roveta and Beto Romano, was inspired by a fusion of rural life and urban vertigowith references to Argentine tradition and an irreverent reinterpretation of its cultural heritage.
Kostüme presented its collection #47AW24 in “Deseo”, fusing the nighttime imagery with sports functionality, creating a contrast between silhouettes and morphologies of both worlds. The featured textures were fur and ripped denim. The nickel-plated closures shone and the omnipresent black was maintained as a hallmark of the brand.
Raimondi came to Designers Buenos Aires with “Lúdico” at the Vorterix theater, in the Colegiales neighborhood. Sebastián Raimondi’s collection included unique and limited edition piecesstanding out for the choice of premium quality materials, many of them discarded textiles.
Nous Étudions closed the week with “Metamorphosis” in an old textile yarn factory. The performative installation explored transformation and change through an immersive journey, inspired by nature and human processes. The staging included totems that interacted with models, who were an integral part of the performance.
