For his part, Vicente Martín Muñoz was born on September 16, 1969 in the town of La Nava de Santiago (Badajoz). Baptized in the local parish, his family moved to Mirandilla, where he lived his childhood and youth.
In 1987 he was confirmed at the Badajoz Seminary, by D. Antonio Montero Moreno, at that time bishop of Badajoz. His ecclesiastical training was carried out at the San Atón Metropolitan Seminary in Badajoz, where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Theology. Ordained a priest in 1995, he served in the Armed Forces. Later, he served as parish priest in Calera de León, and later he was assigned to La Roca de la Sierra and La Nava de Santiago. In 2002 he was named a member of the priestly team serving the parishes of Albuquerque, where he was elected archpriest three years later.
In 2005 he was appointed parish priest of Caritas Diocesana of Mérida-Badajoz and, the following year, parish priest of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, in Badajoz. In 2013 he was named Episcopal Delegate for Consecrated Life until 2016 when he moved to Madrid to study Pastoral Theology, where he graduated in 2018. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Social Doctrine of the Church from the León XIII Social Institute (2006).
In 2018 he was appointed episcopal delegate of Cáritas Española and in 2020 secretary of the Episcopal Subcommittee for Charitable and Social Action of the Spanish Episcopal Conference.
