The Mexican priest and exorcist, Fr. Eduardo Hayen Cuarón, wrote in the red social X (antes Twitter) that “I found the mosaics of Father Marko Rupnik amazing, especially those of the National Shrine of Saint John Paul II, in Washington.”
“It’s a shame that they have to be removed now. The reason? After the accusations against him, for abusing several nuns, his works of art no longer fulfill their function of elevating the spirit towards God,” she added.
For her part, blogger and ex-atheist Leah Libresco commented also in X that “if you want to defend Rupnik’s art, you have to advocate for justice for Rupnik and reparations for his victims. Part of the reason people pursue art is because there has been very little progress in pursuing human consequences.
