It is a question whose answer is decisive because “if it is true, everything changes in our lives. And if it is not true, everything remains the same and loses consistency.” In this sense, Bishop Fernández warns that “if this doubt is never raised before us, it is because perhaps we are not willing to change anything, for that it is better not to even doubt.”
The Spanish prelate points out that, if Christ had not been resurrected, his Passion and his death, “no matter how dramatic, would remain an expression of good will, but without any consequences for us.”
On the other hand, adds the Bishop of Córdoba, if it is “a real and historical event, even if it overflows our minds, it becomes a very powerful light and energy,” in such a way that “it changes the future horizon of our life, our death and the afterlife of death.”
