Lignum Crucis: collector accidentally buys a relic on the Internet

Starting May 3, the parish of San Sebastián in the Diocese of Almería (Spain) exhibits a relic of the Cross of Christ that a Catholic who is fond of antiques accidentally purchased on the Internet.

Eduardo López, a security guard, bought a Christ that he found at a market almost a year ago. Moved by faith, he decided to buy it and set out to find a cross to place the figure on. Searching online pages, he noticed one that, due to its dimensions, fit him. He paid 22 euros for it, according to the information portal of the Spanish Episcopal Conference, Ecclesia.

The cross has a base with a small screwed drawer. Inside, Eduardo found a paper dated January 28, 1924 signed by a clergyman Henry Gayet, vicar general of the Archdiocese of Rennes (France), Cardinal Alexis-Armand Charots being archbishop.
