Currently, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Peru, El Salvador, Uruguay, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Austria, Slovakia, Ecuador, Cuba, Chile and the Philippines celebrate the Day of the Unborn Child.
This celebration highlights the importance of the right to life of the unborn and expresses the rejection of the crime of abortion, legalized in Argentina in December 2020 under the impetus of the current president, Alberto Fernández.
The encyclical The Gospel of Life of Saint John Paul II
Another reason for declaring March 25 as Unborn Children’s Day is that on that day, in 1995, Saint John Paul II published the encyclical The Gospel of Life (The Gospel of Life), in which he expresses his clear defense of the right to life and rejects threats against it such as abortion and euthanasia.
