The bishops of Holguín ask the Virgin of Charity, patron saint of Cuba, to help Cubans “to take firm, concrete steps that express our commitment.”
For this reason, they express, “we suggest that on Holy Saturday, when we contemplate the loneliness of the Virgin in her pain, we join in the prayer entrusted to her, with the firm hope that the resurrection of her Son Jesus brings us.”
Likewise, they invite Cubans to follow the example of Saint Joseph to grow in faith in God, “for whom nothing is impossible”, and thus, “strong, firm and serene” overcome the crisis facing the country “by responding to the challenges that the current reality presents to us.”
