Mexico: Archbishop of Yucatán suffers traffic accident

Mons. Gustavo Rodríguez Vega, Archbishop of Yucatán (Mexico) and president of Cáritas for Latin America and the Caribbean, suffered a traffic accident on March 10.

Through a statement, the Mexican archdiocese indicated that the vehicle in which the prelate was traveling, along with his driver, “suffered an accident, forcing them to leave the road.” The archbishop was heading to the city of Ticul, located about 70 kilometers south of Mérida, on the Yucatán Peninsula.

“Thank God, overall, both are fine and under control. Except that Mons. Gustavo had two fractures in his left clavicle and one in his right wrist,” states the message from the Archdiocese of Yucatán.
