In commemoration of International Women’s Day 2024, the Conference of the Mexican Episcopate (CEM) encouraged people to follow the example of emblematic Catholic women, highlighted for being “brave, wise and faithful.”
In a statementthe CEM extended an invitation to all women to emulate “the faith and service” of figures like the Virgin Mary, “who, with her ‘Yes’ to God’s plan, became mother and disciple.”
In addition, the bishops mentioned the importance of following the example of other women such as Saint Mary Magdalene, disciple of Jesus Christ and witness of his resurrection, and Judith, recognized by Pope Francis as a “brave woman in faith and in her works.”
