Son of Gary Sinise, Catholic who participated in Forrest Gump, dies

The son of Gary Sinise, American Catholic actor who played the remembered Lieutenant Dan in the film Forrest Gump of the 1990s, has died at the young age of 33 from a rare form of cancer.

Sinise, also recognized for his leading role in the television series CSI: New York, shared the sad news on February 27, more than five years after his son Mac was diagnosed with chordoma, a rare type of bone cancer that, according to the Mayo Clinic“it is generally formed in the bones of the spine or in the skull.”

Since 2017, Mac, also Catholic, worked alongside his father at the Gary Sinise Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting military veterans, first responders, and their families in the United States.
