The Diocese of Plasencia (Spain) has decided to remove a priest “temporarily from the public exercise of ministry and his office as parish priest” after he was arrested for trafficking Viagra and other aphrodisiac substances.
In the course of Operation Botafumeiro, agents of the Civil Guard arrested this Monday the priest Alfonso Raúl Masa Soto at his home, along with another man, identified as Eduardo and who would be his alleged partner.
During the search of the home, about two kilos of aphrodisiac substances and more than 3,000 euros in cash were found. A few hours later, the judge on duty released the priest with charges, who must appear in court every 15 days, while decreeing provisional prison for the other individual.
