In an interview given this Saturday to Radio Miter, the president of Argentina, Javier Milei, stated that Pope Francis “is the most important Argentine in history” and that the issue of his past disagreements cannot be reduced to “ideological quarrels.”
From Rome, where he arrived on Friday from Israel on a trip in which he expressed his closeness to that state in the face of the conflict with Hamas, Milei considered that in the meeting he will hold with the Holy Father they will have “a very fruitful dialogue, just as than the one we had when we spoke on the phone.”
In November 2023, Pope Francis spoke by phone with Milei, after his victory in the presidential elections over the ruling party’s candidate, Sergio Massa.
