“During the nine weeks, I invite you to pray for the grace of sincere repentance for the sins committed and sincere participation in the acts of repairing the devotion of the first Saturdays,” he continued.
These acts of repair are “the sacramental confession of our sins, the worthy reception of the sacred communion, the prayer of the five dozens of the rosary and the union of heart with the painful and immaculate heart of Mary meditating for fifteen minutes on the mysteries of the rosary, with the intention of repairing to the Blessed Virgin Mary, for each of us, in our families and parishes, and throughout the universal church.
Burke encouraged to trust “in the promise of Our Lady of Fatima that the fruit of his devotion, by the grace of God will be the salvation of many souls and peace throughout the world.”
“That our Lord, by intercession of Our Lady of Fatima, grants us, during the nine weeks of prayer, an abundant gift of divine grace, of love that inspires the devotion of the first Saturdays in repair of the offense that our sins inflict to their sacred heart and the painful and immaculate heart of his virgin mother,” he concluded.
After being a witness with his cousins Santa Jacinta and San Francisco Marto of the appearances of the Virgin of Fatima in Portugal, Sor Lucia entered the novitiate of the Doroteas sisters in Pontevedra (Spain).
There he attended several appearances of the Virgin and the Child Jesus, who began on December 10, 1925 in his room, which were approved by the Vatican as part of Fatima’s message, for having the seer.
In those appearances, the Mother of God asked Sor Lucia de Fatima to promote the devotion of Saturdays, which consists of the first Saturday of each month for five months, the person confesses, receives communion, pray the rosary and dedicate 15 minutes to the prayer to disagree the immaculate heart of Mary.
The relief are offered before the five blasphemies described by the Virgin: against her Immaculate Conception, against her perpetual virginity, against her divine motherhood by rejecting her as the mother of all men, before the offenses of those who try to publicly sow in the hearts of the children indifferent or even hate the Virgin and before the offenses of those who outraged her in their holy images.
In 1929 Sor Lucia moved to the Spanish city of Tuy to continue his formation with the Doroteas. There the Virgin also saw, but this time with her immaculate heart in her hands.
