Rosario de Men convene in the center of Mexico City

In the heart of Mexico City, Catholic men will meet to carry out a procession and pray the rosary on the esplanade of the Historic Center, in front of the Metropolitan Cathedral, next Saturday, October 11.

The call is made by the Caballeros del Rosario, an international movement of lay people. In an interview with ACI Press, Daniel Serrano, general coordinator of the Apostolate, explained that the meeting will begin at 11:15 hours (local time) in the National Atachtive Temple of San Felipe de Jesús, from where the procession will depart at 12:00 to the esplanade of the Zocalo, as is commonly known to the Plaza Mayor of the Mexican capital.

Serrano said that for three years, between October 7 and 12, this act is organized in Mexico City within the framework of World Rosary Day. He described the initiative as “an act of faith and humility for the conversion of our hearts, the peace of the world and the salvation of souls.”

“As a society we have become back and it is time to leave as men to defend our faith,” he said.

Currently, the apostolate has a presence in the United States, Venezuela, Spain, Colombia, Argentina, Ecuador and Chile, in addition to Mexico, where it is in 30 states. Its members, says Serrano, have been “witnesses of many miracles within the members of the apostolate. Things that God does through the Virgin Mary, for our requests.”

The Caballeros del Rosario promote the public prayer of the Holy Rosary led by men in response to the requests of the Blessed Virgin Mary, especially in her invocation of Fatima.

As he explains, his mission is to promote prayer every first Saturday of the month, as well as foster “the experience of Christian virtues in the laity and their commitment to society so that, finally, they can defend and promote Catholic law in the public sphere.”

In addition to the monthly meetings, the apostolate celebrates special dates such as May 13, Our Lady of Fatima, on October 7, Our Lady of the Rosary Day and December 12, on the day of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

This year, the meeting coincides with the annual withdrawal “The spiritual combat”, which will be held from October 10 to 12. Although in past editions it was mainly aimed at coordinators and subcoordinators, for the first time it opens to all members already interested in integrating, although with limited quota.

The retirement will be accompanied by the heralds of the Gospel, legionaries of Christ and diocesan priests, and will be complemented with conferences taught by Fr. Ángel Espinoza de los Monteros and the academic Jorge Traslosheros, doctor in Latin American studies and professor at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
