Two Mexican priests suffered “an armed attack” while circulating aboard a vehicle in the state of Michoacán, in a fact that, according to the Catholic Church, is part of the “wave of violence that we live in our society.”

The priests managed to advance a few kilometers “and then leave the car and protect themselves.” Later they contacted the authorities, who located their whereabouts and transferred them to the city of Morelia, where “they were treated and both are out of risk.”

He also called on the authorities to build “a safe society where peace reigns to which we are called by God himself, our Lord.”

Finally, he urged the faithful Catholics to raise prayers for the victims, for their relatives and above all, he urged to make a prayer “for the conversion of those responsible for this and the other violent events that occur in our society.”
