The province of Colombia of the Congregation of the Mission has presented a ninth jubilee to San Vicente de Paúl, founder of this order that in 2025 turns 400 years.
San Vicente de Paúl founded the Congregation of the Mission in France in 1625. Its members are known as paúles or Vicentinos missionaries and are present in about one hundred countries.

Therefore, to celebrate these four centuries, a novena has been elaborated that will help people open to grace. In addition, it brings “a community sense that allows us to meet the other, as we make paths of reflection and communion together,” he says in the presentation.
The prayer of the novena begins on Thursday 18, in the face of the party of San Vicente de Paul held on September 27.
The reflections have been made by the Vicentino priest Andrés Felipe Rojas Saavedra, who indicates that, in the midst of the wars and instability that affect the world, “Jesus invites us to put our trust in him (…) Already raise our heads because ‘our liberation is approaching.”
“That same hope challenged St. Vincent to see, behind the suffering face, to the glowing Christ, the same as contemplating the realities of pain of his people, did not remain unpaid, but transformed reality with the inventive force of charity,” he says.
“Now, 400 years later, the fervent flame that on San Vicente in France has spread like an scorching fire, evoking the words of the Lord: ‘I have come to set fire in the world, and how I want it to be burning!’
