At the conclusion of the Angelus prayer this January 21, Sunday of the Word of God, Pope Francis announced, before the thousands of faithful present in St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican, the beginning of the Year of Prayer, in preparation for the Jubilee of 2025.
“The next few months will lead us to the opening of the Holy Door, with which we will begin the Jubilee (of 2025). I ask you to intensify your prayer to prepare us to live well this event of grace and thus experience the strength of God’s hope,” said the Holy Father.
“This is why today we begin the Year of Prayerthat is, a year dedicated to rediscovering the great value and absolute necessity of prayer in personal life, in the life of the Church and the world,” highlighted Pope Francis.
