“This is my dream as Archbishop, that you, teachers, in the example of the teacher with capital letters, be agents of communion, capable of innovating, changing, of building a new education in this archdiocese, capable of overcoming the logic of the world that is a logic of selfishness and division,” said the prelate at the opening mass.

“Let’s work together, and I have another dream or challenge that I leave: programming a jubilee of Quito educators,” added the Prelate, according to a Note from the Archdiocese of Quito.

The Congress was divided into three blocks: identity as Catholics, integration of knowledge of pedagogical knowledge and innovation.

Sebastián Castro, rector of the school. Leonardo Ponce commented that he was enriched by what was offered in Congress and stressed that “our institutions are Catholics and that is what differentiates us from others. Make strength in this option for Christ as our teacher and mentor of ours.”

Rosalía Arteaga, educator and exhibitor, stressed for her part that “education has to be humanistic, which has to differentiate us from what comes to us by artificial intelligence, by robotics, etc., and that it certainly has to do with the intrinsic values of the human being.”

For the exhibitor Belén Camacho, a doctor in Mental Health and Development, these “meetings are important for educators because we begin to look at another perspective, we have the opportunity to listen to testimonies, we are in contact with more professionals and help us understand a little more the reality that we live in day to day but sometimes we cannot see.”

Alba Añazco, a specialist in social intervention and exhibitor, said in turn that Congress has been a good occasion “to meet us from our emotions, to be able to manage them properly and thus help our students (…) guaranteeing a healthy healthy adult.”

Gustavo Ayala, Deputy Minister of Education, thanked the realization of the Congress, which he considered “a space for dialogue and exchange of ideas on improving education, the problems of Ecuadorian education and teaching role.”
