The jubilee of young people begins to bear fruit with the BMJ Seoul 2027

Laura Sofia is one of the hundreds of thousands of pilgrims who filled the streets of Rome during the jubilee of young people, an experience that reinforced her religious vocation and who wants many more to live her in the World Youth Day (WDP) that will take place in Seoul in 2027.

Just as she, there are several pilgrims who after the day of Rome have felt motivated to be evangelizers in their countries of origin and, why not, feed in others the desire to live the same experience of a universal church in the next meeting of South Korea.

In her shared testimony with ACI Prensa, the 26 -year -old Colombian girl reports that it was not the first time she attended an event of this type, but that the one that took place in Rome “had something quite special.” “Some time ago I have been asking God about the vocation he calls me, which is holiness, but promptly wanted to know where.”

The young pilgrim states that she always felt “a little alone in the call to religious vocation,” and that fear increased by not having religious referents around him. However, “in this jubilee I had the opportunity to live a church on exit.”

“When you went out to the streets you saw all the consecrated, all the religious, the priests, accompanying groups of young people, congregations of religious with very young vocations, and in truth that raised in my heart as an accompaniment and an answer of God that were fundamental for a process of discernment that I am carrying.”

To this were added the conferences and testimonies of religious “that have told God.” This jubilee “has also been a call to hope for me to respond to the vocation that God has for each one of us”, and “just as he may be calling me, he may be calling you,” he says.

The testimony of Laura Sofia and that of others has been an incentive so that from the Pastoral Digital Colombia an initiative was launched to unite movements, communities and initiatives of digital evangelization to take many young people to the WYD of Seoul.

Rafael Beltrán, representative of the Digital Colombia Pastoral, told ACI Press that the reception has been added that movements such as Effe and other digital evangelization initiatives have been added.

“We already have approximately 5,000 to 6,000 interested young people,” not only from Colombia, but also from Mexico, Venezuela and other Latin American countries. “What do we want? Invite more digital evangelization initiatives, invite movements” so that younger ones live the WYD of 2027.

Melisa is a 24 -year -old girl. According to Rome, it went to Rome without expectations, but “the truth is that it filled me in an impressive way” sharing the same faith “with a million people around the world.”

“I stay with all the love of God, I stay with being a better person for him and I really hope that flaming never goes out within anyone who lived it,” he says.

A similar experience lived Natalia Duque, 25, highlighting the deep silence in Tor Vergata at the time the Blessed Sacrament was exposed. “I think the word that would best explain it is sublime,” says the young woman.

On August 3, at the end of the closing Mass of the Jubilee of the Young people, Pope Leo XIV announced that the BMJ of Seoul will take place from August 3 to 8, 2027. “After this jubilee, the pilgrimage of hope of young people continues and will take us to Asia,” the pontiff proclaimed that Sunday.

The theme of the WYD of Seoul is “encouragement! I have defeated the world.” In this way, South Korea will be the second Asian country to host this type of event, after the WYD 1995 that took place in Manila (Philippines).
