This Saturday, July 19, a large number of Ecuadorian faithful will participate in the X Pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of Santa María Madre de Guayaquil, a beloved Marian invocation that does not have much time to have been created.
Under the motto “María, Luz de la Esperanza on the road”, the faithful of the Archdiocese of Guayaquil will go on a pilgrimage to the Marian sanctuary, whose pastor is Father Yair Rodríguez.

“This is a very particular devotion. The activities of July 19
The Guayaquileño priest also indicated that for some days the faithful are praying a novena, and that this Saturday, July 19, the activities will begin at 5:00 in the morning (Ecuador Time) with the reception of the delegations.
At 6 the Holy Rosary will be prayed and the 7 Cardinal Luis Cabrera Herrera, Archbishop of Guayaquil, will preside over the Mass in the Sanctuary, who is “encouraging us here to the entire community.”
On the intentions that the faithful will lead to the feet of Santa María Madre de Guayaquil, Fr. Rodríguez said that many will surely have to do with “the wave of violence and insecurity” that Ecuador and other countries in the region live
“Perhaps what we are living in Ecuador, Peru, Colombia and the Latin American countries will put it at their feet: all this pain of the people who are, in some way, mistreated and that does not let us live and with a peace of mind that we need,” he said.
The priest finally recalled that in the sanctuary of Santa María Madre de Guayaquil, which is a jubilee temple in this Jubileo de la Esperanza 2025, plenary indulgence can be obtained crossing the holy door and fulfilling the conditions of confession, communion and praying for the Pope.
