With the slogan “Forjadores of a New World. The person, beginning and end of development”, more than 400 Argentine businessmen met in an annual meeting of the Christian Association of Business Leaders (ACDE), an entity founded by Enrique Shaw, the Argentine layman who is on his way to the altars.
The 28th edition of the meeting took place on July 1 and 2 in the Patricios Regiment of the City of Buenos Aires, and featured outstanding national and international analysts and exhibitors.

The archbishop of Buenos Aires, Mons. Jorge García Cuerva, was present at the inauguration of the meeting With a letter in which he apologized for his sudden absence, due to the death of Cardinal Dri.
The prelate asked entrepreneurs “to be protagonists of our society, to be forgers of a new world in which technological advances should not eclipse the values of our community.”
“We need agreements between us, dialogue. Those are the essential foundations to build our society,” he said.
The president of the meeting and general director of Google Argentina, Víctor Valle, on the other hand, said that “Argentines are invited to take in our hands the opportunity that the world presents to us. A world that accelerates the changes, whether geopolitical, technological or cultural, and for which we can be prepared.”
In that sense, he proposed with optimism that “the change will be positive, if we assume it on the basis of the values that formed us: an ethic of the care and respect of the people who integrate our organizations; of the respect of our common house and the respect of the communities in which we work.”
Fr. Adrián Santarelli then took the floor to remember that “being an entrepreneur is to be an entrepreneur,” and this “is a gift that God gives to certain people”, inviting “not to fall into the temptation of individualism.”
The Frenchman Romain de Chateauvieux, founder of Mission International Mission, who said: “When we go out to mission we found health needs, education, but also need to be heard. In short, the need for God.”
The first day concluded with the panel: “Is it possible to witness in the world of the company?”
Strengthen ties and empathy in companies
The second day began with a reflection of Fr. Daniel Díaz, an advisor to ACDE, who recalled the “great mission” of those present in society through the business task, which is “a noble vocation.”
The first panel, entitled “Crossroads of the world: global trends and the challenge of the human being in times of change”, reflected on companies, which “become super -capable entities, build ecosystems and generate problems in the policy of countries.” The key, the exhibitors raised, is “to leave the place to technology in what technology has to contribute and we continue strengthening links and empathy in organizations.”
Leadership, impact, social commitment and values
The second panel, called “The human face of technology”, continued with the theme, focusing on artificial intelligence and raising the need to use it as a tool. “People give value to things and the best results are achieved in man-machine collaboration, not delegating tasks to the machines,” they argued.
The panel “The Argentina we want: leadership, impact, social commitment and values” raised the possibility that the country has today to take advantage of resources to multiply income.
The following segment, entitled “The Institution as the engine of change: roads towards sustainable development” called on entrepreneurs to “get involved in what the State does so that it really serves the population” and recalled that “institutions import and civil society has an important role in the debate so that the division of powers, the right of property and freedom of the press without privileges.”
Finally, “more cooperation between the public and private sector was requested to generate more development opportunities for the country.”
Do not leave anyone “next to the road”
At the close of the meeting, the President of ACDE, Silvia Bulla, stated that “the so necessary macroeconomic order required and will continue to requiring a great effort of the whole society, especially those who suffer most. Also of the business leaders, that we must conduct sustainable companies, taking care of people, without leaving anyone on the side of the road.”
In that sense, he asked to “consolidate solid institutions, to take advantage of the great opportunity presented to Argentina”, with dialogue and state policies.
Víctor Valle, on the other hand, considered that the deep changes that the world and our country live “mean a great opportunity so that for once we can build a prosperous, fair and inclusive country.” Within that framework, he urged those present to “transform that uncertainty into hope.”
