Amid the violence and the division that Mexico suffers, from the Catholic Church a call to join in a novena dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, from June 19, on June 27, the day in which the solemnity of the Sacred Heart is celebrated.
It is the call made in a video message Fr. José Luis García Franco, Superior General of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart and Santa María de Guadalupe, through From the social networks of the Mexican Episcopate Conference (CEM).

“Mexico is the land of Mary”
Father García Franco remembers in the video that “we usually always say ‘Mexico is the land of Mary’. This is true. She has conquered this people for her son Jesus.”
“That is why in Mexico we exclaim ‘Long live Cristo Rey!’ Mexico acclaims with a burning heart to the true God for whom one lives, that Santa María de Guadalupe brought us,” he said.
A jubilee year in the heart of the Church
This call, he said, is part of the Jubilee Year that the Catholic Church celebrates “for the 350 years of the appearances of the Heart of Jesus to Santa Margarita María Alacoque”, which will conclude on June 27 of this year.
He also stressed that this celebration is held during the “Holy Year 2025, Pilgrims of Esperanza, to which Pope Francis, of happy memory, summoned us.
“He invited us in the encyclical Loves us To put the heart of Christ in the center of our history, since talking about the heart is talking about the essentials of the life of a person, of society, and Christ is in the heart of history, ”he recalled.
Mexico needs peace and return to the gospel
The Mexican priest then indicated that “Mexico suffers today violence, division of families, many young people go without a horizon in their lives, we see misery, discrimination, selfishness.”
“Our Mexico needs peace, he needs a heart, to return to the gospel, to Christ,” he said.
Therefore, he said, “we invite you to celebrate on June 19 a ninth to the heart of Jesus throughout Mexico.”
“The day of solemnity, retirement and prayer day for priests, we consecrate to the heart of Jesus our dioceses, parish, congregation, family, life and work.”
“Only the Kingdom of God will be built, the civilization of love. Only in Him the ruins of hate in a new society are repaired. Let’s put our hearts in the heart of Christ, He is our hope,” he said.
“We always pray together: Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart similar to yours,” concluded the superior general of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart and Santa María de Guadalupe.
