In Mexico, the Apostolic Nunciature – Vatican diplomatic motion similar to an embassy – launched a website so that the Catholic faithful could express their condolences after the death of Pope Francis.

Launched this April 22, the website condolenciaspapafrancisco.mx Invite “to all the faithful, and who wish to join in prayer, to share their message of condolence and affection in honor of Pope Francis.”
The form allows you to detail whether who writes the message is part of the clergy, religious life or if it is secular or a politician. It also contains a field to detail whether the person who leaves the message wants to make it public or keep it private.
According to ACI Press, until Tuesday afternoon the website had already received more than 3,500 messages.
Similar initiative had the Peruvian Episcopal Conference (CEP), which enabled A Google form “To receive the condolence messages of the faithful for the death of Pope Francis.”
Pope Francis died on Monday, April 21, 2025 at 7:35 am (Rome time) in his residence of the Santa Marta house in the Vatican, because of a cerebral stroke and an irreversible cardiocirculatory collapse. At the time of his death he was 88 years old and led the Catholic Church for more than 12 years, being the first pontiff of Latin American origin.
Its funeral will be held on Saturday, April 26 in the Plaza de San Pedro, chaired by Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re. Respecting his will, will be buried in the Basilica of Santa MarĂa la Mayor, in a simple grave, without papal symbols or ornamentation.
