Argentina: The Catholic Church celebrates with gratitude the 12 years of Pope Francis

Pope Francis will fulfill this twelve years occupying the chair of Pedro, date that this time finds it by crossing delicate circumstances, since for more than 20 days he has been hospitalized with a complex health picture. Therefore, from his native Argentina they invite you to offer masses to ask for their recovery and thank for these years of grazing of the Universal Church.

Through a letter, the president of the Argentine Episcopal Conference, Mons. Marcelo Daniel Colombo, recalled when Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio, “taken from us, the Argentine bishops, was called by the Lord to serve the entire Church and renew us in the joy of the Gospel.”

At the end of that moment, the prelate asks his bishops to “that day, according to his possibilities, summon the faithful people of their particular churches to celebrate the Eucharist testifying publicly, together with the prayer for his soon restoration, the gratitude for his generous delivery manifested throughout these years, in so many fruits of pastoral love”.

Remembering the words of the Holy Father on the eve of the beginning of the 2025 Jubilee Year, characterized by hope, the Archbishop requested “to help us recover the necessary trust – both in the Church as in society – in interpersonal ties, in international relations, in the promotion of the dignity of every person and in the respect of creation”.

“That the believing testimony can be in the world yeast of genuine hope, announcement of new skies and new land, where justice and concord in the peoples, oriented towards the fulfillment of the promise of the Lord,” he added.

In that line, and called to be “signs of hope”, he asked “that our mother of Luján interceded for Francisco and helps us persevere in prayer like her with the apostles.”
