Spain: Bishops study how to apply synodality and new pastoral lines

The Permanent Commission of the Spanish Episcopal Conference (CEE) studies this week how to apply the final document of the Synod of Sinodality in the country and will begin to profile the new pastoral lines for the four-year 2026-2030.

This agency, in charge of preparing the plenary assemblies and executing the decisions taken in them, meets three times a year and is composed of the president, the vice president and the secretary general of the EEC. It also includes the members of the Executive Commission, the presidents of the Episcopal Commissions and the archbishops not included in the previous positions.

According to The EEC reportsThe Permanent Commission also plans to address other issues of interest between this Tuesday and tomorrow.

Among them, an ecumenical statement on the occasion of the 1700 anniversary of the Council of Nicea and the implementation of the project “Remember Holiness in the particular Church”, promoted by the Office for the Causes of the Saints.

In addition, the Episcopal Commission for Education and Culture will present a draft of the Regulations of the General Council of the Church in Education and a series of proposals will be studied around the centenary of the appearances to Sr. Lucía Dos Santos, one of the seers of Fatima , in Pontevedra (Spain).

Finally, the Permanent Commission will approve the agenda for the plenary assembly that will take place from March 31 to April 4 and approve various appointments, among other recurring issues.
