Provida bench indicates: 155,000 abortions are “a moral and social tragedy” for Colombia

Therefore, Provida parliamentarians demand that the decriminalization of abortion be reviewed “and” policies that defend life from conception “are implemented.

They also ask that the pregnant support programs be strengthened in a vulnerable situation and “adoption as a real and viable alternative” for critical cases is promoted.

Provida bench also requires an “effective protection of the right to conscientious objection so that health professionals are not forced to participate in this practice.”

The parliamentarians point out that this would be “a real commitment of the Congress of the Republic and the National Government, which has been self -denominated as a ‘world power of life’, to effectively protect our children, both born and to be born.”
