Who is the new archbishop of Trujillo in Peru?
According to the Press Office Del Vaticano, the new archbishop of Trujillo is Mons. Gilberto Alfredo Vizcarra Mori, yes, who was born on February 11, 1960 in Lima, Peru. Today turns 65.
He studied civil law at the Faculty of Pontifical and Civil Theology of Lima and at the National University of San Marcos, also in Lima.
He entered the novitiate of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), and continued his studies of philosophy at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, and those of Theology at the Jesuit Faculty of Belo Horizonte, in Brazil.
He was ordained a priest on July 31, 1994 and made his votes in the Society of Jesus on August 15, 2001.
He has performed the following functions and studies: he graduated in Arabic in Cairo, Egypt (1994-1996); Parish priest of San Pedro and San Pablo in Bitkine, in the apostolic vicariatic of Mongo, Chad (1997-2000); He graduated from the Pontifical Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies of Rome (2001-2003); Parish priest of San Ignacio in the Vicariate of Mongo, Chad (2003-2011); Founder and director of the Fe y Alegría project in Chad (2007-2011); and spiritual director at the La Immaculate College of Lima (2013-2014).
On June 11, 2014, he was elected holder of Auttenti and Apostolic Vicar of Jaén in Peru or San Francisco Javier and received the episcopal ordination on August 15, 2014.
