After specifying that Christian hope sprouts from Jesus Christ, Pope Francis highlights that “our ‘hope is born from love and is based on love.’ A love that calls us to build, about the ruins that we leave in this world with our sin, a new civilization of love, so that in the midst of the disaster that has left evil, we all collaborate in the reconstruction of good and beauty ” .
After highlighting the importance of living hope in the face of evil, violence, war, unemployment and uncertainty of the future, the Holy Father encouraged initiatives that return people “self -confidence and society.”
“The poor and the sick, the young and the elderly, the migrants and the displaced people, even those deprived of liberty, must be at the center of our considerations, so that no one is excluded and all see their human dignity respected,” he said.
“Similarly, the volunteers and professionals who work in these areas, so that they always have the appropriate means to carry that breath in the name of all humanity,” he added.
Pope Francis recalled the importance of recognizing in each person, also outside the scope of faith, “the image of God, called to be brothers and to be part of the human family and the family of the children of God.”
To conclude, the Holy Father encouraged to build “the hope in that balance that seeks that everyone has what is necessary, teaching us to share with the poor, and to open ourselves with generous reception to the other, so that we know how to contribute to what we are and have to the common good ”.
