Today, November 29, we begin the Novena dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, to be celebrated next December 8.
Pope Pius IX published the apostolic letter in 1854 The ineffable God (Ineffable God) in which he proclaimed the dogma of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This dogma makes explicit the conviction of the Church, throughout history, that Mary was preserved from original sin and its consequences from her conception, by virtue of her divine motherhood.
