People yet to be identified entered the chapel of the Adharaz-Altasierra Catholic school in Seville (Spain) this weekend, where they desecrated the tabernacle and stole a ciborium full of consecrated hosts. This was confirmed to ACI Prensa by the center’s communications manager, Diana Pérez.
In a statement released through its website, it is specified “although there is no cause for personal injury, we have been able to confirm, painfully, the theft of a ciborium with the Sacred Forms and other material damage in the Administration and Services Area.”

Today, the 10 schools of the Attendis educational group, a private institution that entrusts the spiritual care of its students to the Prelature of Opus Dei, “have joined together in prayer and are carrying out acts of reparation to the Eucharist, with the wish “that no abuse is committed on the consecrated forms and with the hope that we can recover them.”
In the school in Seville where the desecration occurred, the entire educational community has been called to pray the Holy Rosary “of reparation and atonement” this Monday, and other liturgical acts and expressions of piety have been scheduled for the coming days.
Beyond the sacrilegious act, all the activities and services of the educational center are developing normally.
“We sincerely appreciate the trust and collaboration of the families, as well as the expressions of solidarity received. Let us continue together in prayer, under the protection of the Virgin of Adharaz, in an attitude of reparation and reparation,” the statement concludes.
According to a recent study by the Observatory for Religious Freedom and Conscience (OLRC), in 2023 there were 109 attacks against the Catholic Church, including the murder of the sacristan Diego Valencia.
