New alliance of fashion and art

Art and fashion is a trend that does not stop. Museums and art galleries have recently become a space where fashion gains prominence.

Suffice it to mention how they go viral every year. the exhibitions that are held both at the Metropolitan in New York or the Fashion Museum in Paris to check it out. All this without forgetting the number of parades that take place in cultural spaces.

In Buenos Aires, Ivanna Picallo made her contribution to this phenomenon. Not only did he open his store in the luxury brands sector of Patio Bullrich, but he also simultaneously inaugurated an exhibition that combines fashion with art, photographs and sculptures, where prominent names and new talents stand out.

The designer, entrepreneur and businesswoman, inaugurated an art gallery-laboratory that, in her own words, fuses “her passions in life.”

This new venture is part of PATIOartsa new art space that offers innovative proposals and that has an extra advantage: it can be visited for free every day of the week.

And since one of the dogmas that guide Ivana Picallo is inclusion, both socially and among new generations of designers, during the opening she stated that her idea is “make an inclusive project in a luxury place” and took the opportunity to introduce Celeste Vucinovich, a young designer with great potential who will accompany her in her atelier.

After thanking her family for the unconditional support, Picallo emphasized her desire to leave a legacy in the world of fashion and together with María Belén Ludueña, whom Ivana has known since the journalist arrived in Buenos Aires from her native Mar del Plata, was in charge of cutting the ribbons of the art gallery-laboratory that investigates another facet of the businesswoman’s life.

“This space is an invitation to enjoyment, an appeal to enjoyment. With a privileged view of Libertador Avenue, this gallery-laboratory offers works by established artists such as Luis Felipe Noé, but also gives rise to emerging artists. You can see photographic samples, paintings, large sculptures with mixtures of techniques and materials that fuse fashion with art, there are even sectors with comfortable armchairs to contemplate an avant-garde exhibition,” added Picallo.

With social commitment

The exhibition will be renewed every three months and some of the pieces will be auctioned, part of the funds raised will be donated to charities. Social commitment is another of the principles of the designer’s work. With almost 30 years in the world of fashion, Ivana began designing and sewing when she was very young with her grandmother and today she is accompanied by her mother who is attentive to every detail and is the one who, she herself admits, puts order and marks the work pace. Her three daughters are also her support and source of inspiration; one of them even gave a small recital on the official opening day of the venue and the exhibition, last Thursday.

“The trilogy that guides my career is my essence, what I want to convey and where I am going. “I am a designer of my life,” she concludes.
