Due to increased demand, Ford is going to increase production of its Ranger pickup

Ford Argentina announced that in 2025 it will increase the production rate of the General Pacheco plant in Buenos Aires where it manufactures the Ranger pickup. The brand specified that it is due to the growing demand for the pickup throughout the region, where it is one of the best sellers.

In this way, it was specified that the objective for next year is 70,000 unitswhich represents an increase of 14% compared to 2024 production and 28% compared to the year of launch.

A few weeks ago, Martín Galdeano, president of Ford South America and Argentina, had anticipated the company’s plans in an exclusive interview with Clarín, in which he also focused on a request to lower taxes.

While last week the brand exhibited at the Brazilian Transportation Fair (Fenatran) a version of the Ranger Single Cab that, although it has not yet been confirmed, could be added to the General Pacheco production process at the end of 2025.

The truth is that as part of this increase in production, the automaker will incorporate more than 160 direct collaborators in its industrial complex.

To manufacture this new generation of Ranger, Ford invested 660 million dollars in what has perhaps been the largest reconversion of the historic General Pacheco factory, including 4.0 manufacturing technology and concepts, the development of local auto parts and the production of the new family of engines that power it: the 250 HP 3.0 V6 and 2.0 170 HP.

Currently, the Ranger range is made up of nine versions (all double cab). More than 60% of production goes to export markets, which include Brazil, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela and Uruguay, among others.

“This new generation has had an exceptional reception in the region. In its first full year it has doubled its market share in South America and in October it had the best sales month in its history in Brazil: more than 3,800 units sold and consolidating itself among the two best-selling pickups in the segment,” highlighted Martin Galdeano.

In Argentina, for its part, it is the second best-selling midsize pickup behind the Toyota Hilux, with a market share of 5.9% (the highest in the last decade.
