The demand for used cars continues to grow and the accumulated January-October is already above what was recorded in 2023. The Automotive Chamber of Commerce (CCA) reported that the results of October operations recorded a rise of 21.2% compared to last year, and 5,6% compared to September.
So far this year there have been 1,433,622 transactionswhich represents a 2.4% increase compared to the 1,400,057 transfers that were registered during the same period last year.
This shows that the sector has had a great recovery in the second half. The sale of 0 km cars has also had green numbers in the last three months, with October as a notable month. However, unlike the replacement market, the cumulative figure for the year is still 9.9% below 2023.
October was also a great one for the used; “the second best in history after 2013, which barely registered 80 more units,” said Alejandro Lamas, secretary of the CCA.

Lamas highlighted the incipient recovery of the purchasing power of salaries, exchange rate stability, better financing offers and a greater supply of products as fundamental factors of the recovery. “All this contributes to generating a virtuous circle where everyone wins,” he said.

According to the CCA report, among the 10 best-selling models in October, small cars and medium-sized pickups once again dominated.
The Volkswagen Gol Trend, as usual, led the ranking with 11,132 units transferred, followed by the Toyota Hilux pickup (7,691) and the Chevrolet Corsa (6,055).
A trend that continues is that five of the 10 best-selling models They are no longer manufactured (the VW Gol and Chevrolet Corsa are joined by the Renault Clio and the Ford EcoSport and Fiesta).
To establish reference values, the CCA has published the list of estimated prices for November, prepared based on operations and periodic surveys of the marketing sector. In it are detailed more than 6,000 modelsup to 14 years old.
Both the Volkswagen Gol and the Toyota Hilux showed price increases of 4% compared to October, while the Chevrolet Corsa – the third best seller – rose 10%.
The Ford Fiesta, another of the most sought after, was the only one that registered increases between 4% (among its oldest versions) and 10% (for the Kinetic Design variants).
