Mini turned 20 years old in this new stage in Argentina and celebrated it with the launch of its new generation of vehicles, which will be available in 3-door, 5-door bodies and in the Countryman version.

With a special event at the Residence of the British Embassy in Buenos Aires, the BMW Group brand celebrated two decades of the launch of its new era in the country with the presentation of its renewed family of models.

The presence of the new range was accompanied by representative modelss of the last two decades of the brand in Argentina. Among them was a racing Mini John Cooper Works Challenge, a unit of a 2014 Mini Coupé, a 2023 Mini Convertible in the typical British Racing Green and other revolutionary classic Mini examples, since 2024 also marks the 65th international anniversary of the birth of this model.

The new generations of the Mini Cooper debut in Argentina also with the novelty of presenting a new nomenclature system, which names the different performance levels of its engines. In this way, the versions with traditional motorization of these two products now use the letter C, while the more powerful variants maintain the traditional S.

The new versions of Mini are marketed at US$ 48.900 (Mini Cooper C Classic 3 puertas), US$ 49.900 (Mini Cooper C Classic 5 puertas), US$ 59.900 (MINI Cooper S Classic 3 doors) and US$ 62.200 (MINI Cooper S Classic 5 doors). The Countryman S All4, in turn, is offered with Classic Confort equipment levels, to US$ 69.900 y Favoured, a US$ 77.900.

The new Mini Cooper S 3 and 5 doors are powered by the brand’s TwinPower Turbo engine, 2.0 liters, four cylinders and direct injection, which delivers 204 HP of power and 300 Nm of torque between 1,450 and 4,500 rpm.

This engine is associated with the seven-speed dual-clutch Steptronic automatic transmission, which transmits all its torque to the front axle. With this configuration, the three-door model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds, while the five-door model does the same in 6.8 seconds. This mechanical configuration is also available with the Countryman model, with the difference that it has four-wheel drive.

The Mini Cooper C, meanwhile, offer the 1.5-liter, three-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine, with a power of 156 HP and 230 Nm of torque. This mechanics is also related in both bodies to a seven-speed, dual-clutch Steptronic automatic transmission, with front-wheel drive.

The new style adopted by the brand seeks to highlight the urban character but without losing the connection with the original model. The brand named this new design language as Charismatic Simplicity. It retains short overhangs and hood, long wheelbase and large wheels.

With a similar aesthetic, the Cooper 5 doors provides more space and comfort for passengers as it is 172 mm longer and has a longer wheelbase (+72 mm) compared to the 3-door. In Argentina, the four available versions of these models incorporate an electric panoramic roof, LED headlights with range adjustment and 17” wheels as standard elements. The front optics and rear lights with configurable light pattern, however, are exclusive to the Cooper S versions.

Inside it maintains that inspiration in the classic Mini but with a high degree of digitalization. The multimedia center, for example, is a circular OLED screen with a diameter of 240 millimeters and a thin thickness, which is included as a standard element across the entire range. It is a touch screen but the system also supports voice commands. Unlike previous models, it has been relocated a little closer to the driver.

In terms of safety, all new Minis have a package Driving Assistantwhich includes lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic monitoring with brake intervention, exit warning and blind spot vehicle detection.

In addition, it has parking assistant with front and rear sensors, reversing assistant and camera, 360° camera system with panoramic and 3D view, dynamic stability and traction controls, ABS, cornering brake control (CBC), traffic alert. loss of pressure in tires and collision sensor, among others.
