Below is the prayer of Saint John Paul II for families:
Oh God,
from whom all paternity comes
in heaven and on earth.
Father, who are Love and Life,
cause every human family on earth to convert,
through your Son, Jesus Christ, “born of a Woman,”
and through the Holy Spirit, source of divine charity,
in a true sanctuary of life and love
for the generations that are always renewed.
Make your grace
guide thoughts and actions
of husbands towards the good of their families
and all the families in the world.
Make the young generations
find in the family
strong support for your humanity
and their growth in truth and love.
make love
corroborated by the grace of the sacrament of marriage,
prove stronger than any weakness
and any crisis,
that our families sometimes go through.
Do finally, we ask you
through the intercession of the Holy Family of Nazareth,
that the Church in all the nations of the earth
can successfully fulfill its mission
in the family and through the family.
Through Christ our Lord
which is the way, the truth and the life,
forever and ever.
