Custom projects and pure design

“In the studio they call me grasshopper because I’m constantly here and there. I admit that I love that dynamism. We work as a team and our area is organized into Project and work, Equipment and supplier management and Custom furniture design for each project and client. We have a team of talented architects and industrial designers. We always seek to ensure that the work is enjoyable and of high quality, in a pleasant environment,” she describes in detail. Luisa Yanzónalma mater of ByLthe interior design studio that was born as a branch of the tree (or should we say the vine) of Bórmida & Yanzón.

To delve into details and account for this climate, he adds that one of the youngest architects leads active breaks“where it makes us all stop to move, breathe and meditate” and there is also gourmet moments prepared by different members of the team.

“Everything happens around a central table, where sometimes a creative chaos until someone puts order and we organize ourselves again. We usually finish early so that we can all do sports or other personal activities. This change, compared to the years when I was younger, has been very important for me; I firmly believe in an approach that promotes both efficiency like the happiness at work”, he adds.

Although the interior design studio was formalized in 2014, it has even deeper roots, since it was born as an extension of the architecture studio founded more than 50 years ago. Luisa, daughter of Eliana Bórmida and Mario Yanzónis the second generation of architects of the studio specialized in wineries, agribusinesses and hotels, as well as residential architecture.

Since its foundation, byL has expanded its field of action, not only complementing architectural projects with interior design. “We have worked both independently and in collaboration with other architects, expanding the work teams and enriching each project with a comprehensive vision. This collaborative approach has been key, especially in hospitality projects,” describes the winner of first prize in the category Interior Design of the ARQ Clarín Excellence Award 2024.

Since started this category in 2016won first prize for four consecutive years. Pandemic through, by resuming the contest in 2022, it obtained third place, last year it rose to second and this year it regained the top again.

Luisa assures that her personal imprint It manifests itself, above all, in the use of natural materials. “I like to work with matter in its raw state and transform it into something sophisticated, taking it out of its usual context. I enjoy creating contrasts. For example, combining Italian designs in imperfect and rustic settings that highlight those pieces in unexpected ways. Or placing elements of great expression in their subject matter in very neutral or “international” spaces. I firmly believe that materials have a unique capacity to transmit sensations invisible to the eyes but perceptible to the body and soul.”

The philosophy of your study It is based on the interpretation of the environment and a deep understanding of the needs of our clients. “We believe that each project is an opportunity to reflect and translate those needs and the identity of the brand or client into spaces that tell a story. We create spaces that are not only inhabited, but also cthey communicate, they excite y establish a dialogue between the environment, the materials and the people who experience them,” he summarizes.

Among the most notable projects of ByL we must mention The Vinesthe Patagonia brewery in Bariloche for the Quilmes group and the bodega Anaia Wines. Currently, he works on several residential projects both in Argentina and abroad and projects the interior design of some hotels.

Furthermore, youwork on expansion to other countries“always with a focus on quality and the creation of custom projects. “We are not seeking to become a gigantic structure, but rather to continue maintaining the essence of working with tailor-made projects, adapted to the specific needs of each client.”

And, as if that wasn’t enough, explore the possibility of creating a separate area for more standardized projectsrelated to the real estate sector and with furniture production designed by your company.

“Being recognized in the interior design category for several consecutive years is a great honor and an enormous responsibility. It fills us with deep pride and confirms that all our effort and dedication have borne fruit. This distinction motivates us to continue working with the same level of commitment, passion and excellence”, he concludes.
