“Where the Cross appears, you see the sign that the Good News of the salvation of man through love has arrived. Where the cross is raised, there is the sign that evangelization has begun” (Saint John Paul II).
By meditating on the mystery of the suffering of the Son of God, who, being innocent, became guilty of death and suffered unspeakable pain on the cross, each person can make their own suffering or pain, their hardships or the difficulties of everyday life more bearable. The cross, which is a symbol of redemption achieved through love, is the cost that Christ paid to rescue us from sin and make us the object of God’s forgiveness.

Consequently, the cross must be exalted, because in it the Lord showed us infinite and unconditional love. And thanks to this love the doors of heaven have been opened wide again. Although the cross was chosen because it was the bloodiest instrument of death and torture, Jesus turned it into a seal of the promise fulfilled and a sign of hope and new life for all.
