At the end of 2023, the French Episcopal Conference (CEF) published a series of statistics on seminarians in the country, showing, for example, that 74% of them consider priestly celibacy a source of joy.
The figures were gathered after the national meeting of seminarians, held from December 1 to 3 in Paris, in which 600 of the approximately 700 candidates for the priesthood who are being trained in France participated.
In this group, points out the CEF76% also declare that they value that, being seminarians, they are identified as future priests.
