“In all the baptized, children or adults, faith must grow after Baptism. For this reason, the Church celebrates each year on the Easter Vigil the renewal of the promises of Baptism. Preparation for Baptism only leads to the threshold of new life “Baptism is the source of new life in Christ, from which all Christian life springs” (CCC 1254).
Marge Fenelon also indicates in her article that “the Baptism of Jesus, in fact, Baptism in general, assures me of God’s promise of salvation for those who seek Him. God knows, literally, that I certainly seek Him. The Catholic Church calls the Baptism ‘bath of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit’. Now that is something wonderful to reflect on!”
4. An unbaptized person can also baptize
The Catechism of the Catholic Church (n. 1256) indicates that “the bishop and the priest and, in the Latin Church, also the deacon are ordinary ministers of Baptism. In case of need, any person, even the unbaptized, can baptize if has the required intention and uses the Trinitarian baptismal formula”.
