On the occasion of the 350th anniversary of the apparitions of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to Saint Margaret Mary of Alacoque in Paray-le-Monial (France), the Archbishopric of Toledo (Spain) is promoting a deeper knowledge of this devotion, deeply rooted in the archdiocese.
Through diocesan television and your YouTube channelthe Primate See of Spain is broadcasting a series of 25 videos of only 15 minutes in length, divided into thematic blocks in which, among others, the Archbishop of Toledo himself, Mons. Francisco Cerro, and the Bishop of Orihuela participate. Alicante, Mons. José Ignacio Munilla, whose episcopal motto is, precisely, “I trust in You.”

The first two thematic blocks are dedicated to explaining the bases of this devotion, from its definition (What do we mean when we talk about the Heart of Jesus?), passing through its historical and theological biblical foundations.
The third delves into theological aspects such as reparation, personal and family consecration, as well as nations and the world or the Magisterium of the Heart of Jesus.
The fourth segment of the series focuses on the Contemplation of the love of the Heart of Jesus in the Eucharist and on the Cross, as well as from the perspective of the Virgin Mary.
The next two installments, which make up the fifth block, refer to the importance of the Heart of Jesus in the faith of the People of God: how it is present in various practices of piety and what the promises revealed to Saint Margaret Mary consist of.
The sixth group of catechesis tries to look at the current world from the Heart of Jesus and how it relates to the wounds of our time and especially the relationship of this devotion with youth.

The last series of videos is dedicated to saints who are closely linked to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, such as Saint Margaret Mary, Saint Claudius de la Colombière, Saint Therese of the Child Jesus, Saint Teresa of Calcutta, Saint Faustina Kowalska, Saint Charles de Foucauld and Blessed Bernardo de Hoyos.
The contents of the videos, in addition to the bishops mentioned, are provided by various priests such as P. Santiago Arellano, parish priest of the church of the Sacred Heart of Talavera de la Reina and its parochial vicar, Fr. Javier Pueyo; he P. Valentín Aparicio, vice-rector of the Major Seminary of Toledo; Father Víctor Castaño, director of the Diocesan House of Spirituality; and Father José María Alsina, president of the Institute of the Heart of Christ.
In a recent letter titled Return love for loveBishop Cerro highlights that devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is “a beautiful synthesis of the deepest theology and popular expression of faith in the Redeemer Love of Christ Jesus, the Incarnate Word” in which numerous people have found inspiration, movements, religious congregations, apostolic movements, etc.
The Archdiocese of Toledo is also closely linked to this devotion, which has led to numerous fruits, of which, the prelate highlights “the blood of our martyrs of the religious persecution of the 20th century, many of them already elevated to the altars.” .
